Pottery Class Booking

Classes can be requested for any day of the week with a 10am or 1pm start time. Private bookings are available with a minimum of 4 students.

Getting to Bundeena

We're in the picturesque seaside suburb of Bundeena located in southern Sydney and are accessible by public transport via the ferry at Cronulla train station or by car via the scenic Royal National Park.

We did Intro to Pottery Wheel Throwing at Marion's studio by one of her staff. The studio was very cozy, and we had lots of fun! It was our first time doing pottery but we are very proud of what we made. Now just waiting to see our final pieces!

Very friendly and helpful, they even helped me out with a voucher that had just expired, would go back.

An unforgettable experience! My husband and I spent 2,5 hours at the pottery wheels for the first time in our lives. We made three amazing pieces each! They looked wonderful! Can you believe it? Marion taught us to make them! Moreover, she has an excellent sense of humour and the whole experience was a great fun. We can't wait to see how our ceramics came out.

We highly recommend the pottery classes with Marion. Escape from routine and create some masterpieces!

I recommend all of it I have had two classes and they were both fantastic, fun time, always a pleasure to go and make a piece of pottery with such a lovely talented owner at Something at Marys..

Amazing experience! the location is superb and the teacher really knows her stuff. The lesson is very engaging. Pity I don’t live closer otherwise I would have gone more often. Definitely recommended.

We made our own Venus Vessels and the experience was a lot of fun! Definitely recommend!

I've done 3 classes at Something at Mary's Pottery Classes Sydney. I've enjoyed everyone of them. Most recently I did the teapot class. It was a lot of fun and I'm pleased with my teapot. Love the location - there's some nice cafes and the Bundeena Community & Services Club for a nice lunch afterwards.

We had a fab experience with Marion learning how to make ceramics. It was a small, fun class which Marion was able to instruct & help each student out one on one. We walked away having made 3 ceramic pieces. What more could someone want who has never even touched clay before. Thanks Marion.

Fantastic pottery classes, great creative outlet and will get you hooked on pottery!

My daughter gave me a teapot making lesson for Mothers’ Day. We had a great time! Mary was very helpful and helped us make the teapots we chose. Lovely day with lovely people!

Such a fantastic time creating things from scratch. Marion was patient but also ensured we knew exactly why we were doing what steps at what point. The intimacy of the class meant lots of hands on time and plenty of one on one coaching. I walked away feeling driven, accomplished and inspired. I would highly recommend this class and experience in its tranquil setting!

I took a friend for a class as a birthday treat and I cannot recommend Something at Mary's highly enough! Marion was a fantastic teacher and ran through every step we did in thorough detail, ensuring that everyone got the opportunity to make something they were happy with. I learnt far more in just a few hours with her than I did in a four week beginners pottery class else where. Marion is extremely generous with her time and sharing her expertise and the classes are small and intimate so there are plenty of chances for one-on-one instruction. And the location is just beautiful, only a couple of minutes away from the water so be sure to enjoy a coffee and treat before/after the class basking in those gorgeous blue views.

Had such a wonderful experience learning from Marion. As beginners, she explained the processes very clearly, and was very hands on with us to make sure we made the best pieces possible. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to start using our pieces!

A great way to unwind in beautiful Bundeena and lose yourself in learning something new at the same time :-)

The classes were small and intimate, making the learning experience far more enjoyable and easier to follow. Would go again and would recommend!

Coming in with 0.00 experience I thought I was jumping into the deep end but... I was wrong ,An excellent teacher made the learning chew-able and gave constant attention to every student

What a fabulous introduction to pottery we had! I took my two kids (13 and 16) for introductory class and it was awesome - the 13 yo boy was sceptical on the way there but within minutes he was beaming. Highly recommend

Fun hands on experience!!

The tea pot making workshop i did last month was easy to follow, using hand building techniques.

In the last week I experienced both the Beginners - Wheel Throwing and Wheel Turning classes.

Pottery was a bucket list item for years, however I am glad that I was able to tick it off at Something at Mary’s. Marion is an extraordinary teacher. She not only knows her craft but she also knows how to connect with people. From the moment you enter she immediately makes you feel at ease.

The first class I experienced was with other students and the second class I had the privilege of being alone. Whether in a class or with a single student Marion utilises the same attentiveness, awareness and care, all with an atmosphere of lightness and fun.

If you like me have had giving pottery a go on your bucket list, I highly recommend popping down to Something at Mary’s and allowing Marion to teach you.

Oh and don’t worry if your highly analytical or think too much, you will have a ball! Trust me!

Great experience! Very personalised session and the teacher was very experienced!

I went there with my gfd as a surprise birthday gift and she loved it! We took the teapot making class which was clay molding as opposed to wheel throwing, but the instructor's experience really made it worth it, and we both now have two pieces! Highly recommended--

My boyfriend and I had a great time- we went from zero to hero with the clay master! Thanks so much for a great afternoon, we’ll be back to make more bonsai pots!

Had a great time at this pottery class on the wheel with my daughter. At the end of the day we made three pieces which actually looked awesome. heaps of fun and would highly recommend.

we did a girls weekend group activity and it was fantastic. we all had fun and we get to keep a souvenir that can actually be used !

We went down for the teapot making, and had a great time, I was offered a cup of tea to start with, then we were shown some mould options to start out design. We were free to choose what our pieces would look like, but also advised on things that wouldn't work so well, so that was a good balance. In the end I finished a decent looking piece, which I would not be ashamed of gifting to a friend. Great date idea, and nice location with cafes and the beacv to visit after. Yeah I'd definitely recommend it!

I booked smashing class for myself and my best friend for her 30th birthday, it was honestly the best experience we could have had! We loved everything about it the class was great the teacher (Marion) was lovely a perfect day out

We went to Something at Mary’s for a Hen’s day and had a lot of fun making teacups. Mary was lovely and very hospitable, the studio space was small, but did the job.

It was amazing! The instructions were clear even though we are not native english speakers. Finishing the class in the morning then we went to the wedding cake rock. A great day with a good pace.

My boyfriend got me the throwing and turning classes for Christmas.
We absolutely loved making our pieces and having a chat with Marion.
Our pieces turned out beautifully and we couldn't be happier with our while experience.

My partner and I went for the Saturday throwing and Sunday Turning classes. Marianne showed us how to do the basics and helped us and others get 3 pieces of pottery each made up Small cup, medium cereal bowl and sml/med sized bowl. The classes are small (4 ppl) and are run in a quirky little garage, its small and basic (a bit hot if its hot outside, lol) but the space and the weather soon became irrelevant when we immersed ourselves in the cool clay fun. Marianne went the extra mile and we had a great time. Highly recommend!

My partner and I both loved making bowls at Mary's! I bought him this class for our anniversary and also because we had broken most of the bowls in our house. It was his first time trying it and he aced it. Mary was super encouraging and knowledgeable about her craft. A fine teacher. I would recommend to anyone.

My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our practical experience making pottery and we learnt so much in a short period of time. We were surprised at our end result and made three beautiful bowls. We had such a fun time together and Mary was very skilled and professional. Thanks for the experience!

Mary is so lovely. Her little workshop is very welcoming for potters of all abilities - complete starters to experienced wheel potters. She has such a huge range of kilns and glazes and everything. We had a great day, finished with fish and chips on the beach!

A picnic at royal national park followed by the afternoon here gave us a day that was very well spent! She is a great teacher and was perfect for my partner and I who were pretty useless potters. We are very keen to receive our pieces!

Customer service is great and I really learnt a lot from her. I have always been into pottery and Something at Mary's really helped me fully appreciate this art.

I would recommend this for anyone. I took my son who is only 12 and had never done this before we both had a fantastic time we are planning on going back for sure.

After some consideration I decided to attempt the art of pottery with my wife for her birthday and I was pleasantly surprised how fun it was. It is definitely much harder than it looks but after some practice I was getting the hang of it. The class was small and intimate so it was easy to ask the teacher for help (which was much needed). My wife and I would happily go back for more lessons!

Marion is a great teacher, despite having some experience in pottery I learned lots of new techniques and tips. Will be back !

My boyfriend had booked us a class with Marion for my birthday and it was perhaps the best gift ever. Marion was an excellent teacher with great banter and made the whole experience a lot of fun. My mum and I had a fabulous afternoon with Marion.
We made a weekend of it. Staying at cronulla beach for the night, catching the ferry from cronulla to bundeena and also having a wander around the beautiful town.

Marion had a wonderful ability of being able to break down the tricky steps that are involved into very simple easy and achieveable tasks, with a sense of calm and fun too.
We left very happy and shocked at how great our pottery pieces actually turned out in the end.
She made us instant pros! Well kind of :) we will be back

Went to Something at Mary's with a few family members and it was great. Marion is lovely, has a sense of humour and is a great pottery teacher. We didn't realise we had gone well over our time as it was very comfortable sitting and chatting whilst making pottery. Can't wait for the next visit :)

Such a lovely area and a fantastic weekend being messy and creative.

I had my hen's party here (making teapots!) and it was great! I know it's a bit far for Sydneysiders, but it's definitely worth the trip - there's food around the area and a lovely beach close by to either relax or have a picnic at! All my friends who came said they loved it. The people here were very caring and friendly as they were more than willing to make adjustments for us and cater to our needs. They also make the classes quite entertaining and funny! I've just picked up our teapots yesterday and they look amazing <3.
Thank you Something at Mary's for making a special day so much more memorable!
